Passive Income Matrix FAQ
How to read the Passive Income Pros & Cons Matrix, and how to use it to pick your passive income streams.
What is the Passive Income Pros & Cons Matrix?
The Passive Income Pros & Cons Matrix is a free internal training resource from Wealth Without Wall Street. It compares 16 passive income streams side by side on four key factors (time, capital, influence and detail), lays out the pros and cons of each stream for every DISC personality style, and links the Wealth Without Wall Street podcast episodes that go deeper on each one.
Which passive income streams are in the matrix?
Sixteen: Short-Term Rentals, Turnkey Long-Term Rentals, Land Flipping, E-Commerce, Long-Term Rentals, Private Lending, Syndications, Franchises, Mortgage Notes, Car Sharing (Turo), Self Storage, Laundromats, Mid-Term Rentals, Online Businesses, Creative Finance and Vending Machines.
How are the key factors scored?
Each stream is scored 1 to 4 on four factors. Time: 1 = 0 hours, 2 = 5 hours or less, 3 = more than 5 but less than 20 hours, 4 = 20+ hours. Capital: 1 = $1K or less, 2 = $1K to $5K, 3 = $5K to $25K, 4 = $25K+. Influence required: 1 = none, 2 = limited, 3 = moderate, 4 = advanced. Detail: 1 = none, 2 = low, 3 = moderate, 4 = tons.
How does DISC fit into choosing a passive income stream?
The same stream feels very different depending on how you're wired. The matrix lists the pros and cons of every stream for each DISC style: D (Dominance), I (Influence), S (Steadiness) and C (Conscientiousness). That shows you which parts of a business will energize you and which parts you'll want to delegate or avoid.
Does the Passive Income Matrix cost anything?
No. The matrix is an internal training tool from Wealth Without Wall Street. There is no charge, and there is nothing to buy on this page.
Where do the podcast episodes come from?
All 49 episodes are from The Wealth Without Wall Street Podcast, hosted by Russ Morgan and Joey Mure (1.6M+ downloads). They include Round Table breakdowns of each passive income option and interviews with operators who run these businesses. Filter by stream to see the episodes for the one you're evaluating.

In Assets Built
We're Russ Morgan and Joey Mure.
For over 15 years we've chased one question like our lives depended on it: how do you make your money work as hard as you do, so you stop being the only asset showing up to work every morning?
Russ started inside the machine. He became a financial advisor in 2004, earned the Certified Financial Planner designation that fewer than 5% of advisors ever hold, and by 2006 he looked like the expert. The market was rising, clients were happy, and the credentials said he had it all figured out. Then 2008 hit, and the whole model came apart in his hands. He realized the advice he'd been trained and paid to give was a sham, built to feed Wall Street whether his clients won or lost. So he walked away from the belly of the beast.
Joey came from the other side. Eleven years in the mortgage business, a great name, a rising income, and a phone permanently attached to his hip. The more he earned, the less of his life he kept. He wasn't present on vacation. He wasn't present at home. His wife finally told him she'd rather he collect garbage if it meant getting him back. That was the wake-up call.
In 2009, Russ found a single book that rewired how he saw money, banking, and wealth itself: "Becoming Your Own Banker" by R. Nelson Nash. He didn't just read it. He obsessed over it. He tracked Nelson down, sat at his feet, and asked every question he could think of until he understood what banks have quietly done with their own money for a hundred years. Then he handed it to Joey, and the two of us rebuilt our entire financial lives around it.
Nelson did something remarkable. He cracked the code on becoming your own bank, taking back control of your money instead of handing it to an institution that profits off it. But the more we lived it, the more we saw the gap. Nelson showed people how to become the bank. Almost no one was showing them what to do next. Becoming your own bank is the engine. Passive income is what the engine is supposed to power. The whole space had stopped at step one, leaving people with a brilliant system and no clear path to the freedom it was built to create.
That gap is what sent us on a mission.
So we connected the two. We took the infinite banking system Nelson built and turned it into a launchpad for real passive income, the kind that pays you whether you clock in that day or not. Money you control. Assets you actually own. Cash flow that doesn't ask permission from the stock market, your employer, or a Wall Street advisor who gets paid whether you win or lose.
Today neither of us is chasing a retirement pile anymore, and we've made it our mission to help one million people do the exact same thing. Not someday. Starting now.
One million people, free from trading their hours for dollars. That's the number we're after. And we're just getting started.

The godfather of infinite banking and the man who taught us to think like a bank, not a depositor.
40+ policies between us
Our oldest, opened in 2010, holds nearly $296,000 in cash value today, compounding non-stop while borrowing against it.
